About this event

DAY 1 Old Bar to Tuncurry

We will be starting the ride at the coastal town of Old Bar NSW - Old Bar is a coastal town that lies around 16 kilometres east of Taree on the Mid North Coast,

We will start the ride in Old bar and ride along the cycle path way until we enter the bush and dirt roads. This will be filtering through the abundance of link trails and roads to the tiny township of Rainbow Flat where we will stop for a rest and coffee.

From there we will hop onto the mountain bike tour in Australia and head to Diamond Beach.

The peaceful atmosphere of the area makes you feel like you are miles from anywhere, when, in fact, you are only 25 minutes from the towns of Taree and Forster.

We will then arrive at Black Head Beach township, which is a multi-award winning beach town under the “Keep Australia Beautiful” Program. It is regarded as one of the best swimming beaches in the Manning Valley. It features shady Norfolk Island Pines, an ocean pool and numerous coffee shops and cafes. We will stop for a rest, a cold drink and some lunch while we take in the beauty of this town.

From there we will travel the old dirt road that is located at the start of “Nine Mile Beach” (yes you read that correctly- 9 miles of beach without any houses) - the road extends southwards from Blackhead to Tuncurry.

We will eventually arrive in Tuncurry where we can stop for a cold drink and coffee at one of the cafes. (Coffee and drinks at customers expense)

During this time the “Aussie Bike or Hike” Crew will load your bicycles onto our customer built trailer and then transport you back to Old Bar for your nights accommodation at “Old Bar Motel”

The brand new Club Old Bar motel is your ideal accommodation destination on the Mid-North Coast.

Perfectly positioned in the heart of Old Bar, the Club Old Bar Motel is walking distance to the beach and main street of Old Bar and is adjacent to the award winning Club Old Bar featuring high quality dining, beverage and function facilities.

One of the great things about our tours is the feeling of safety that you will have. You’ll be in a group, with your experienced cycling guide, Motorcycle World Endurance Champion, Alex Cudlin, and there will be a back up vehicle on stand by for rests or cycling breakdowns. That’s a great feeling of security that you have on our rides that you just can’t get riding on your own

Day 2 Coopernook to North Haven

We will load up all the bikes on the trailer and transport everyone to Coopernook Hotel.

We will depart Coopernook and ride through the township of Moorland and onto the dirt road leading to Diamond Head.

Our destination will be the popular camping grounds, where you can ogle the panoramic ocean views and blackened pillars of Split Rock stopping at various spots along the way.

Our staff will be waiting with another tasty lunch and you will have a chance to pat some wild kangaroos or take a swim if you like.

From there we will continue our ride to Dunbogan weaving our way along the fantastic cycle paths to eventually arrive to Camden Haven.

After taking in the sights of the Charles Hammey lookout, we will ride the final 10ks to North Haven and the end of the ride.

We will then load up the bikes into the trailer and transport you back to Old Bar where we wave good bye.

So if exercise, fresh air, beautiful scenery, great food and meeting people who enjoy the same cycling experience as you is something that will help to break those isolation blues, book in to our next Bike Tour.
