What the customers are saying:

What an absolutely awesome tour! To get a true showing of Outback Australia. The roads Aussie Bike or Hike team chose for this trip and the places we saw along the way were awesome. Every motel was good, and Alex is a legend of a guide.

The reason I chose these guys is they arranged everything for us. All I had to do each day was ride and enjoy a beer at the end of the day. I didn't need to plan where we would eat breakfast, lunch, or dinner, I didn't need to plan where the fuel stops would be, and I didn't need to plan if roads were closed or open. The Aussie Bike or Hike team did that. And if I broke down, they would help me get sorted. So I was stress-free. These guys should charge double for the great service they offer.

DAY 7: Roxby Downs to Hawker via Woomera & Port Augusta – 350 Kilometre

After a massive day of dirt yesterday, today brings a shift in scenery as we trade the deep desert tracks for a high-octane run through some of South Australia’s most fascinating history and iconic landscapes.

We roll out of Roxby Downs and head straight into Woomera, a place steeped in Cold War mystique and top-secret history. Established in 1947 as a restricted space and missile testing range, Woomera was once one of the most classified areas on the planet. We'll take a look around the famous open-air aircraft and missile park, where you can stand right next to vintage rockets, jets, and targets that were tested in the vast empty desert we just rode through. It’s an eerie, incredible piece of outback history that few people get to see up close.

From Woomera, we twist the throttle and head south down the Stuart Highway, pointing our front wheels toward Port Augusta for lunch. Nestled at the tippy-top of the Spencer Gulf, this bustling crossroads is where the rugged outback meets the sea. We’ll pull up and grab a hearty feed, refuel the bikes, and watch the landscape begin to shift from barren salt bush to spectacular rising peaks.

After lunch, the real riding begins as we head back into the magnificent Flinders Ranges. We’ll wind our way through the ancient, towering red gorges and sweeping bends that make this region an absolute paradise for riders.

As the afternoon light paints the rugged ridges in deep oranges and purples, we’ll roll back into the historic township of Hawker, completing an epic loop and setting the stage for our final night of outback camaraderie.

DAY 8: Hawker to Broken Hill- - 400 Kilometres

(Our Grand Finale!)

We rise early for our final day in the saddle, kicking things off by heading back into the majestic Flinders Ranges to experience its rugged beauty for one last time. We'll twist through the sweeping mountain bends and red-dirt gaps, drinking in the spectacular views of these ancient peaks before the mountains give way to the sweeping plains of the eastern outback.

By now, you've likely felt the thrill of the ride in your bones, your trusty steed adorned in the badge of adventure, and your attire bearing the sweat and red dust of the journey. Yet, amidst the weariness, you've also forged memories that will echo through the ages—a genuine and profound Outback odyssey.

Our ultimate day leads us back across the border to Broken Hill, the return journey to your vehicles, crowned with grandeur. We'll wave goodbye to the dirt tracks and hit the tarmac, tracing our path across the vast saltbush country back to the very town that witnessed the birth of this unforgettable 8-day adventure.
